A URL (which stands for uniform resource locator) is the address of a web page on the internet. For example, the URL for our website is "http://www.potenture.com".

There are two types of URLs, static and dynamic. Static URLs do not change and they contain no parameters within the address. Dynamic URLs can be generated on the fly and they can contain parameters. Dynamic URLs are generated with ecommerce websites and any website which contains a database.

Why It's Important

Having descriptive URLs can help you in several ways. Descriptive URLs can help a user in letting them know what page they are on within the website. Descriptive URLs can also help your SEO campaigns. Search engines will crawl each and every URL on your website (as long as they can find them) and the more relevant your URLs are, the more relevant your website will become.

For example, being a professional SEO company, we can create videos with information about search engine optimization and how to properly apply SEO to websites.
