What “LLM ready” actually means
A brand is not LLM ready because it published more content. It is LLM ready when five conditions are true.
First, its category and product entities are unambiguous. The site consistently explains what the product is, what it is not, and who it is for.
Second, its core decision assets exist and are easy to quote. That usually means a category hub, best-for pages, comparisons, integration scope pages, a pricing model explainer, security or compliance truth pages, and an implementation guide.
Third, its truth pages are current, indexed, and strongly linked internally. Google explicitly says that pages shown as supporting links in AI Overviews or AI Mode must be indexed and eligible to appear in Search with a snippet, and it also calls out internal links as part of core SEO best practice.
Fourth, the wider web corroborates your identity and positioning. Review profiles, partner pages, and other third-party references should reinforce the same story rather than contradict it.
Fifth, progress is measurable. If you cannot trend citations, mentions, positioning accuracy, and branded lift, then you do not have a program. You have activity.
Month 1: Baseline and governance
The first month is about control, not publishing velocity.
Build a fixed prompt universe of 40 to 80 prompts across awareness, consideration, and demand. Google’s AI documentation matters here because AI Overviews and AI Mode may use query fan-out, so your measurement set needs to reflect real buyer prompts and the subtopics they trigger.

The practical implication is simple: if your own site disagrees with itself, AI systems will synthesize the mess.
Month 3: Build the consideration assets
Month 3 is about shortlist influence.
This is where you publish the pages that help AI systems and buyers evaluate you in context: best-for hubs, top competitor comparison pages, and an alternatives page if a category leader dominates the market. Each of these pages should use answer-first structure, clear constraints, and adjacent proof blocks.
This is also where many teams start seeing the real strategic difference between classic SEO and AI visibility. You do not need to own every head term. You need to own the branches that shape the shortlist.
For a SaaS brand, the first ten pages often include a best-for hub, three comparison pages, a Salesforce integration scope page, the pricing model page, a security page covering SSO and SCIM, an implementation timeline page, and an alternatives page. For healthcare or medtech, those first pages are usually compliance scope, workflow pages, EHR integration scope, an implementation and training plan, procurement FAQ, and best-for pages by facility type.
Month 4: Build implementation and adoption assets
Month 4 focuses on reducing friction after the shortlist forms.
That means implementation timeline pages, rollout guides, procurement FAQs, support content for the highest-volume questions, and an internal linking topic map that connects all of these assets to the hub and truth pages. Google’s crawlable links guidance is important here because Google uses links to discover pages and understand relevance, and descriptive internal anchors help it make sense of destination topics.
This month is often underrated. But in AI search, implementation and adoption content matters because fan-out often pulls in setup effort, prerequisites, and risk, not just category definitions.
Month 5: Off-site corroboration and narrative control
Month 5 moves beyond the website.
Standardize the external surfaces that repeatedly shape your brand narrative. That usually includes review sites, LinkedIn, partner directories, and other third-party profiles that rank for branded and category queries. The goal is not “more backlinks.” It is more corroboration.
This is also the right month for a narrative risk check. Where is AI misframing you? Where is it overstating compliance, confusing you with another category, or ignoring the audiences you actually serve? Fix those issues by aligning truth pages and third-party profiles around the same approved language.
Month 6: Scale and systemize
The sixth month is where the project turns into an operating model.
Expand the prompt universe to include more segments, more edge cases, and more role-based prompts. Convert the structures that worked into templates, checklists, and page-type rules. Lock in the monthly executive scorecard and the quarterly LLM visibility audit.
This is also the point where the team should set the next 90-day backlog. The first six months should not end with “done.” They should end with a system that can keep improving.
What to report every month
The monthly scorecard should stay simple.
