Step 2: Run prompts across the answer surfaces buyers use

  • Category definition (what it is, what it is not)

  • Best-for and not-for segmentation hub

  • Pricing model explainer (not just a pricing table)

  • Integration scope pages (prereqs, limitations, supported versions)

  • Security and compliance truth page with dated, scoped statements

  • Comparisons and alternatives with explicit tradeoffs

Remove contradictions aggressively

  • Deprecate and redirect old pages that still rank.

  • Control PDF sprawl. If old sales decks can be indexed, they will become narrative sources.

  • Align structured data and metadata to visible on-page truth so you do not publish mixed signals.

Harden third-party corroboration

  • Update the top profiles that buyers and AI systems repeatedly encounter.

  • Replace vague boilerplate with your canonical definition, buyer fit, and constraints.

Operationalize drift

  • Monthly: run the fixed prompt subset and score risk.

  • Quarterly: run the full panel, update the citation source map, and reset the backlog.

  • Wrong narrative: “best for SMB teams” when you sell enterprise workflows.

  • Common cause: positioning conflicts across homepage, pricing, and review profiles.

  • Fix: category definition page plus best-for hub, then consistent enterprise constraint language across product pages and top third-party profiles.

Healthcare: compliance overclaim

  • Wrong narrative: “HIPAA compliant by default” with no scope or BAA context.

  • Common cause: vague marketing statements and third-party blurbs that oversimplify.

  • Fix: compliance truth page with explicit scope boundaries and a short compliance summary block.

Enterprise IT: certification and security drift

  • Wrong narrative: SOC 2 Type II status asserted incorrectly or SCIM implied as full provisioning support.

  • Common cause: outdated indexed PDFs and inconsistent trust-center wording.
